LN Gupta gets Petroleum berth at Centre .

The 1986-batch IAS officer of the Orissa cadre, Laxmi Narayan Gupta, was appointed as the Joint Secretary of the Union Petroleum and Natural Gas Ministry in New Delhi on Tuesday. Presently serving as Resident Commissioner of the State Government, he will take over his new assignment in the next week, sources said. As the Resident Commissioner, he for the first time brought out an elaborate Delhi-Bhubaneswar combined official telephone directory covering almost all dignitaries and officials of Orissa and New Delhi. Similarly, the 1980-batch IAS officer, Anita Agnihotri, has also received a Central berth as the chief of Santacruz Export Promotion Zone. She is presently the State's Principal Secretary of the Handloom and Textiles Department.
