Former President A.P.J.Abdul Kalam has accepted the invitation of Ravenshaw University (RU) and has given his consent to attend the first convocation ceremony of the newly formed University on May 10. “We received the consent letter from the former President on Saturday”, said the University registrar Satyakam Mishra.
Besides Kalam, the State Governor M.C.Bhandare would also attend the convocation ceremony, he added. All the toppers of different honours subject in the Plus III examinations and the first class first student of different post-graduation courses of 2007 would receive their medals from the dignitaries on the occasion while the remaining candidates would receive their certificates later, Mishra informed.
