The Berhampur University, for the first time in Orissa, has decided to introduce astrology as a subject under the distance education system from the current academic session.According to sources, the course of studies and the regulation for the one-year postgraduate diploma in Jyotirvidya were formulated on Thursday at the meeting of the Board of Studies of the university held under the chairmanship of noted astrologer Nimai Banarjee.
The other members of the committee are retired professors Tara Prasad Mohapatra and Mayadhar Sahu, KC Acharya, Dhaneswar Das and Pradeep Kumar Subudhi.The sources said the course is likely to be started from this year after the approval of the course of studies and regulations by the university's Academic Council.
