The State Government has decided to set up an agriculture based Special Economic Zone (SEZ) for ginger and turmeric. "A proposal has been sent to the Centre to this effect," said Agriculture Minister Surendra Nath Nayak. The zone would be set up at Phulbani.
Nayak said Rs 66.96 would be spent for the improvement of the infrastructure of this SEZ. Many areas of Phulbani and Koraput are famous for producing turmeric and ginger
