Keonjhar girl cracks UPSC exam.

Twenty-seven-year-old Anita Barick, daughter of late Sanatan Barick and Premalata Barick of Jharbeda village under Patna block in Keonjhar district, has succeeded in this year's UPSC examinations without taking any coaching or refresher course, although she appeared in the examinations for second time.She was a meritorious student since her childhood and secured 73 per cent marks in HSC examination while reading at Turumunga High School. She had secured 78 per cent and 69 per cent marks in +2 and +3 respectively from Dharanidhar College of Keonjhar.

She has recently completed her PhD after qualifying MPhil from the Jawaharlal Neheru University ,New Delhi. While studying MA in Utkal University, she had prepared herself to take the UPSC examination to fulfil her father's wish. In the UPSC examination held in October, 2007, she opted for Sociology and General Administration as her first and second optional.While talking to The Pioneer, she attributed her success to her dedication and hard labour along with the cooperation of all near and dears and her father's cherished dream. Her success is adjudged as the first success of an OBC category girl in Keonjhar district
