How do you spell the name of your State? Is it Orissa or Odisha? The State Government would soon pass a resolution in the coming Cabinet meeting to this effect. Henceforth, the State will be known as 'Odisha'.
In this connection, State Home Secretary TK Mishra met the officials of the Union Home Ministry. The Union Government has agreed to co-operate with the State Government in this regard.
After passing a resolution to this effect in the State Cabinet, the Government would present it before the Union Government for consideration. Later, an amendment to this effect will be made in the Constitution.
