OAS aspirants slam OPSC for moving court.

Pioneer News Service | Bhubaneswar

The OAS aspirants have severely criticised the move of the Orissa State Public Commission to move Orissa High Court against the decision of the State Administrative Tribunal to defer the Orissa Administrative Service mains examination by three months. Notably, the examination was to be held on May 27.The aspirants in a Press release said when the aspirants have been demanding postponing of the examinations, at least for a few months as every aspect of the examination, the timing, the schedule and the procedure embarked on by the Commission are fraught with grave mistakes sometimes even clashing with the constitutional norms on quota.

However, the OPSC is out to challenge the SAT decision on a flotilla of frivolous grounds like the arrangements have been made or money has been spent for the mains examination. But the candidates said as the Commission has flawed, the money spent, should be recovered from the salaries of the decision makers. The past record of OPSC is indicative of its inefficiency and stagnant attributes. Now the OPSC is groping for some loopholes in law and making a gimmick to save its face, said the release.
