Raheja Corporation (Mindspace) to set up IT park in Bhubaneswar.

The State Government on Tuesday inked an MoU with K Raheja Corporation for setting up a dedicated infrastructure facility for the Information Technology/ Information Technology Enabled Service (IT/ITES) sectors under the brand name of Mindspace.
It is expected to be completed in three years and an estimated Rs 250 crore will be invested in the first phase. The Mindspace IT Park will facilitate the city to turn into a preferred destination for IT, ITES and financial sectors.On behalf of the State Government, Secretary, IT PK Mohapatra and Ravi C Raheja from Raheja Crop signed the MoU in the presence of IT Minister Surjya Narayan Patro and Chief Secretary Ajit Kumar Tripathy.

The proposed IT Park will be implemented through a joint venture company to be formed by IDCO and K Raheja Corp. The IT Park will be designed as a green building thereby promoting environment-friendly and energy conserving infrastructure development practices.Three possible locations at Infocity-I, Infocity-II and Mancheswar Industrial Estate have been identified. It would be built over 30 acres of land. The park is expected to generate employment opportunities for more than 12,000 people in the next 3-4 years.

Speaking on the occasion, IT Minister Surjya Naryan Patro said the park would be developed on a public-private-partnership (PPP) mode. "The State Government will earn revenue to the tune of Rs 5,000 crore from software export by 2012," he said, adding that about 3-4 lakh jobs were likely to be created in the IT and ITES sector. Raheja said the Bhubaneswar IT Park would generate vast employment opportunities for the people.Orissa Computer Application Centre (OCAC), the nodal agency for IT sector promotion and facilitation, will provide single-window support to the IT Park for project implementation.Secretary IT, PK Mohapatra said the proposed IT park would provide the much needed quality IT infrastructure in the State. Chief Secretary AK Tripathy and Vishal Dev, Director, IT Department, were present on the occasion.
