After successfully introducing online admission from last year, the Ravenshaw University,Cuttack is all set to receive tuition fees from the students online in the coming academic session beginning from June this year.
“We are going for complete E-Governance in our functioning. The entire project is being financed by the State Government and the idea behind it is to maintain accuracy in records and functional transparency. Soon the entire university faculty staff and students will have online access to all relevant documents”, said the university registrar Dr. Satyakam Mishra. After completion of the ongoing networking, the students would be able to pay their fees online, he said adding that the teachers will be able to access projects and research papers to equip themselves properly for classroom teachings. Besides, both teaching and non-teaching staff would be able to apply and receive information regarding their status of leave, duties and even the position of their salary and other dues, the registrar informed. The computer networking, programming and relevant software of the university has been carefully designed so as to upgrade them in future , sources said. The main fiber optic backbone link is going to be connected to all buildings in the academic complex. The links to all departments would be provided with hubs thereby making it possible to setup LAN. Services of Indian Telephone Industry, Bangalore were hired for networking of the campus while the XIM, Bhubaneswar is developing the software for specific administrative and academic needs of the university, the registrar said.
