Literacy can eliminate poverty, feels Orissa Governor.

Orissa Governor Mr Muralidhar Chadrakanta Bhandare observed that literacy can help in eliminating poverty and education of girl child holds the key to combating poverty.He was talking to media persons on the side lines of his visit to Baji Rout Chhatrabas here yesterday. Evading a direct response to the question on allegation of negligence by centre to Orissa in general and in the railway budget he said "the state should fight for its dues".The Governor spent time interacting with children at the chhtrabash. He enquired about the condition of the students.
Expressing concern over the drop out of girl students from schools he urged them to complete schooling and take to higher education. “Children are the joy and beauty of the world”, he said to the school students.The chhatrabash chief Ms Krishna Mahanty, daughter of late Nabakrushna Chaudhury read out the report on the chhatrabash and urged the governor to help them build a children park inside the campus.
