A 12-member high-level Chinese railway delegation, headed by Director of Sino-India Railway Cooperation Working Group WU Wei held discussions with East Coast Railway General Manager AK Goyal and his team of senior officers at the ECoR headquarters here on Monday in connection with the proposed development of Bhubaneswar Railway Station as a world-class railway station.The delegation will stay in Bhubaneswar till Tuesday. Goyal briefed the delegation about the performance of ECoR in general and Bhubaneswar Railway Station in particular.Earlier, the Chinese delegation visited Bhubaneswar Station and the proposed site of New Bhubaneswar Station near Barang.
The group will study various pros and cons of the proposal of developing a world-class station which can serve the twin cities of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar.The Chinese delegation will also hold discussions at the Railway Ministry level regarding further modalities of developing a world-class station after completing their field trip.
