BPUT aims at achieving world standard.

The Biju Patnaik University of Technology's (BPUT) third convocation was held at the NIT Auditorium here on Saturday, with Governor-Chancellor MC Bhandare presiding over the function and VS Arunachalam, former Scientific Advisor to Defence Minister, addressing as the chief guest.In his welcome address, BPUT Vice-Chancellor Prof Omkar Nath Mohanty said priority is being given on research and development to enable the university achieve international standard. MoUs have been signed with IIT, Khargpur, XLRI, Jamshedpur, NITTTR, Kolkata, IIT-Kerala and Brockhaus GambH and University of Siegen, Germany.Arunachalam urged both the Union and State Governments to introduce a large number of scholarships and fellowships for new graduates to study and train abroad.The Governor awarded 19 gold medalists in different streams and three special medal awardees. He expressed his confidence that the university would continue to enhance its academic excellence as well as social commitments.
