Rajya Sabha MP Rama Chandra Khuntia urges PM for IIT in Orissa.

Clinching on to the opportunity of meeting with Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi newly-elected Rajya Sabha MP from Orissa and AICC secretary Rama Chandra Khuntia on Tuesday urged him for setting up an IIT in State, allocation of adequate funds for construction work of AIIMS branch, initiatives to change the name of Orissa to Odisha, stopping iron ore exports from the State, laying a four-lane road of National Highway-215 from Rajamunda to Panikoili, rail communication to Dhamra Port and Aredi Akhandalamani via Jajpur's Biraja Kshetra from Jajpur-Keonjhar Road railway station and steps for doubling the Daitari-Bansapani rail line.He also discussed with the PM for setting up of a Railway Division Office at Jajpur-Keonjhar Road and provision for stoppage of all express trains at Jajpur-Keonjhar Road station.Khuntia also urged Singh that the minimum support price given to wheat farmers should be extended to paddy growers. Besides, he urged for total implementation of the Arjun Sen Gupta Committee's recommendation for labourers working in farm and unorganised sectors. A permanent rehabilitation scheme should be put into place for labourers residing in close proximity of railway lines in Chhattisgarh, Bilashpur, Raipur and Orissa.
