300-bed Hospital to come up on OTM land in Choudwar

CUTTACK: A 300-bed hospital would come up on the Orissa Textiles Mill (OTM) land in Choudwar as Koustuv Metals Private Limited, a state based company has made the highest offer for the land and property of the sick textile unit before the Company court of Orissa High Court on Friday. Of the 542 acres of the erstwhile OTM, the IMFA group has made a bid to purchase 62 acres of prime land.At least seven bidders had applied to the official liquidator of the HC in response to a fresh sale bid of the OTM that was declared sick and closed since 2003. Among the bidders, IMFA group has made a bid of Rs 5 crore for 62 acres of land on which it has already set up a captive power plant while Koustuv group has offered Rs 43 crore for the remaining of the 542 acres.
The Group plans to set up a state-of-the-art hospital and a medical research center here besides a tin modulation unit. “We are also planning to convert the hospital into a medical teaching college in future and would urge the State Government to grant us SEZ facility,” said the Koustuv Group managing director Pravat Mallick.Priority The company would give priority in generating employment and families who were affected due to closure of the erstwhile textile mill would get primacy.
