APIIT to conduct entrance test in Orissa.

The Indian chapter of Kuala Lumpur-based Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT) has decided to hold entrance test in the Capital, Cuttack and Rourkela on June 7.Regional coordinator Om Prakash said, their objective is to enrol a good number of students from the State this year and provide them a scope to complete their studies in Kuala Lumpur or in Staffordshire University in UK, to which the institute is affiliated.
The India campus based in Panipat is recognised by AICTE. It offers specialised programmes under the computer science stream like computing, software engineering and multimedia.Prakash said, unlike other programmes, APIIT curriculums are tailor-made keeping industry requirements in mind. The course modules do away with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics, he said while talking to mediapersons here.On the placement front, he said, the highest salary offered this year went up to Rs 4 lakh. The sister branches of APIIT are located in the cities of Perth, Colombo, Karachi and Lahore.
